Nominations Close January 31, 2025

This award honours a farm family that has made an outstanding contribution to agriculture in the City of Kawartha Lakes and beyond. Eligible contributions may include:
- Innovative Practices: Adoption of exceptional agricultural production practices or development of new, impactful methods.
- Leadership & Involvement: Active participation and leadership in community and industry organizations at the local, provincial, or national levels.
- Mentorship: Guiding and mentoring members of the agricultural industry to foster growth and development.
- Legacy Contributions: Long-standing contributions that uphold:
  - Economic Viability: Demonstrating strong, sustainable farming operations.
  - Environmental Stewardship: Implementing environmentally sustainable practices.
  - Social Responsibility: Supporting and strengthening the agricultural community.
This award recognizes farm families whose efforts and legacy have earned the respect and admiration of their peers, serving as a beacon of excellence in agriculture.

- Submission Options: The nomination form can be typed, handwritten or completed online and printed
- Evaluation Criteria: Points will be awarded based on the quality and detail provided in the answers to the questions.
- Eligibility: The person or entity being nominated must reside or be located in the City of Kawartha Lakes
- Supporting Documents: Please include letters of support to assist the judges in their decision-making process.
  - Not Permitted as Part of the Application: Videos, newspaper articles, pictures, or biographies.
  - Future Use: These items may be requested later for event recognition if the nominee is selected for the award. Please retain them for potential submission.

This award recognizes an individual, business, organization, or collaboration that has made a significant and meaningful contribution to the agriculture, food, or agri-business sector in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Contributions may include:

Honouring Generations of Farming - This award celebrates the remarkable legacy of farming families who have upheld agricultural traditions for 150, 175, or 200 years in the City of Kawartha Lakes (formerly Victoria County).
We encourage families to self-nominate and share their inspiring stories of dedication, resilience, and contributions to our agricultural heritage.
